Beacon G6 Connections and Components
Note: The Beacon G6 or Beacon G6.2 cannot be stacked with another or with other equipment.
The installation requirements are:
- Allow a minimum 100 mm clearance above the top cover
- Allow a minimum 50 mm clearance from the side vents
- Do not place any heat source directly above the top cover or below the bottom cover
Quick Start Guide
1 – Plug in: Plug in the power adapter and then connect it to the back of your Beacon G6.
2 – Power on: Push the on/off button, the LED on the front of the device will turn on. Plug the Ethernet cable into the blue WAN port on your Beacon G6.
3 – Connect to Modem or Ethernet Outlet:
If the Modem is provided: Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into either the WAN, ETHERNET, or GIGA MC port on the modem (The modem provided and the name of the port depend on the technology in your building).
If the Modem is not provided: Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to an available outlet in your home. Only one outlet will be active so you may need to try multiple outlets before you will get an active connection.
4 – Wait for the green light: The light on your Beacon G6 will turn green when it is ready.
5 – Connect to Wi-Fi: Connect your devices using the SSID and Wi-Fi Key shown on the bottom of the Beacon G6
Router Management Set-Up
To manage your router yourself and to configure things like your password and network settings, please follow these steps:
1 – Open a web browser while connected to the Nokia WiFi network and go the default gateway IP address: 192.168.1.1
2 – The login page appears. Enter the username and password in the login window. The username and password are on the sticker on the bottom of your Beacon G6.
Configuring the Password
After log in to the Web-based GUI, click Maintenance -> Change password on the left panel. Follow password rules indicated on the page. When the password meets the password rules, the application displays the message “Your password has been changed successfully”.
Configuring Wi-Fi Network
1 – Click Wi-Fi -> Wi-Fi network on the left pane. The Wi-Fi network page displays the existing Wi-Fi networks.
2 – On the top right corner of the page, click Add Wi-Fi network + to create a Wi-Fi network. Select your preferred network type and click Next.
3 – Enter the name of your network in the Name field and click Save. Enter the password for the network in the Password field and click Save.
4 – After setting up the network name and password, you can always click the three dot icon on top right corner on the card and make the change.
5 – Click Detail to view and edit the SSID configuration for your network.
6 – Select the toggle button to enable WPS
Configuring Port Forwarding
1 – Click Advanced settings -> Port forwarding on the left pane. The Port forwarding page displays.
2 – Fill out the blank fields according to the Port forwarding parameters below, then click Save on the top right corner of the page.
