The Browse by Categories feature allows you to see all programs that are available in your chosen category within a given hour—not just programs with specific keywords like the Search feature. If no programs are on within a given hour, the feature will automatically skip to the next hour with available programming.
For example, if you are searching for Hockey, you will see everything that is categorized as hockey including NHL games and Hockey Central. If you browse for hockey on a Saturday, you may not see anything available until Hockey Night in Canada is on at 4PM at which point, the system will automatically skip forward to the 4PM time slot.
