Beam TV+ | Troubleshooting | I am getting an HDCP error on my screen

If you’re seeing an HDCP error, it relates to High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection, a form of copy protection used when transmitting digital content between your set-top box (STB) and your TV over an HDMI connection.
TV providers are required to use HDCP-compliant devices. However, not all HDMI ports on every TV support HDCP, especially if your TV is older. Most newer TVs will have at least one HDCP 2.2 compliant HDMI port, but you’ll need to consult your TV’s user manual or contact the manufacturer to know which ports are compatible.
This error might not appear all the time. It can show up intermittently, depending on the connection and compatibility of the port in use.
Try the following troubleshooting steps to clear the error:
1. Power Cycle the Set-Top Box
2. Reconnect the HDMI Cable. If the error is still there, unplug the HDMI cable from both the STB and the TV, then reconnect it.
3. Use a Different HDMI Port. If the issue continues, try connecting the HDMI cable to another port on your TV. Don’t forget to change the TV input to match the new HDMI port.
4. Replacing the HDMI cable.
Using a HDCP 2.2 compliant port is the best way to prevent the error from showing up again in the future.
