Regular TV | Troubleshoot: TV is showing a double image

A double image, sometimes called a ghost image, usually occurs when there is signal interference. Learn how to stop your TV from doubling the image.  

There are two fixes depending on whether you have a VCR connected to your TV.

If your TV is connected directly to your wall outlet:

  1. Ensure that your coax cable is securely connected to your TV and the wall outlet. If this doesn’t work,
  2. Replace your coax cable.

If you have a VCR connected to your TV

  1. Turn off your VCR. If this doesn’t work,
  2. Plug your coax cable straight into your TV from the wall outlet without connecting it to your VCR.
  3. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the coax cable.
